Grant Delgatty

Grant is a seasoned industrial designer, entrepreneur, and educator. Since graduating from ArtCenter College of Design in 1995 with a BS in industrial design, Grant has had an extensive career designing a wide range of consumer products in many different categories. A significant portion of Grant's career has been in the footwear industry, with him designing for a number of shoe companies, including being the head of design for Vans Shoes from 2001 to 2008.  In the time Grant was with Vans, the company saw a 400% increase in yearly revenue.

In 2008, Grant decided to head out on his own, and has since founded a number of different entrepreneurial ventures, including an industrial design and product licensing company called ideapiphany LLC, a shoe company named Urshuz, and in 2013, he founded URB-E, a personal folding electric vehicle company to address the growing market need for micro transportation in urban environments.

Besides being a designer and entrepreneur, one of Grant's other passions is teaching. In 2007, Grant was asked to be an instructor at his alma mater, ArtCenter, where he has since taught several courses ranging from product, footwear, environmental and mobility design.  At the beginning of 2018, Grant was also invited to develop a curriculum and teach a product design course for the Iovine and Young Academy for Arts, Technology, and the Business of Innovation at the University of Southern California.

Grant holds several utility and design patents, has won numerous awards for his designs, has been published extensively, and in 2015, was named on the SoCalTech50 list of Southern California entrepreneurs to watch.
