Michael Crowley is a member of the advising faculty at the Iovine and Young Academy. He has worked for 20 years in the industry as a programmer, manager and project manager at Northrup Grumman. Crowley came to the University of Southern California in 1999 as a full-time lecturer with the department of Computer Science in the Viterbi School of Engineering and has since become Professor of Practice. A devoted teacher, Crowley has recently shifted emphasis to become the director of Information Technology Program (ITP), which has tremendous potential in the education of information technology by making courses in applied technology available to to all students at USC. The program offers cutting edge and hands on courses in web development, new media, 3D animation, security, programming, video game design and programming, and other innovative topics in information technology. The unit is a leading source of curriculum innovation on campus and is also a leader in integrating emerging instructional technologies in the classroom.
