With over 20 years of experience as a creative director, commercial director, designer and editor, Carsten Becker has worked with brands including Adidas, Sprint, Lexus, Microsoft, Amazon Studios, Cirque du Soleil, Disney, Dolby, ESPN, GMC, Google, HBO, Sony, United Healthcare and Visa. He teaches multimedia design at the USC Iovine and Young Academy.
Carsten’s roots are in cinematography, which he studied at SFOF in Berlin, Germany. He continues to focus on emotive storytelling and visual innovation, with projects spanning advertising, theatrical, main titles, branding, digital, broadcast packaging and experiential marketing.
Carsten has worked at a variety of leading creative agencies including Possible, Prologue, Imaginary Forces and Ignition Creative. He was a key contributor in designing film title sequences for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, the Mission: Impossible series, Snow White and the Huntsman and five visionary sequences of the film Across the Universe. He has also directed spots for GMC, Amazon, Red Bull, Honda and created opens for ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
Previously, Becker taught motion design and narrative at the California Institute of the Arts. He is also co-founder of Twillo, a startup bringing new technologies and creative approaches to fashion manufacturing.
