Philip More is a professor of entrepreneurship at the USC Iovine and Young Academy. Prior to his current role, he served for 28 years as a tenured professor at the USC Marshall School of Business.
More has taught at a variety of schools including the University of Washington, Indiana University, Dartmouth College, the U.S. National Technological University, Harvard University, Tilburg University in the Netherlands, ArtCenter College of Design, the University of Hong Kong as a Fulbright Scholar, Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, and Dau Tong University in Xian, China. He has taught courses on operations research, statistics, research methods and business strategy, and he has garnered teaching awards from Business Week, USC and Indiana University.
Throughout his career, More has served as a consultant and executive educator for public entities and private firms in the aerospace, automotive, biotechnology, electronic and pharmaceutical industries, as well as organizations such as the Thailand and Hong Kong Management Association. Prior to his academic career, More served in the U.S. Air Force as a communication-electronics officer where he received several decorations including the Air Force Commendation Medal.
More has both founded and acted as a director for several entrepreneurial ventures as well as served as an affiliated faculty at the USC Lloyd Grief Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. He also volunteers with organizations such as the United Service Organizations, the L.A. Maritime Institute providing leadership training for youth, and therapeutic riding organization Ride-to-Fly.
More’s research focuses on innovation and entrepreneurship, international comparative management and business valuation.
