Launched in 2019, Unity was founded to bridge the gap between top companies and underrepresented college students. What began as a mission to create opportunities has evolved into an annual, transformative experience. The 2024 Unity Summit Tour kicked off in Los Angeles this past week and IYA students were in attendance!

The LA tour featured stops at the Creative Artist Agency (CAA) and Lionsgate giving students the opportunity to engage with some of the most dedicated early talent leaders who work to create an inclusive company culture, while networking and sharing insights into career pathways in media and entertainment.

The tour will continue in New York City, Indianapolis, Bentonville, and will conclude in London. Each event will bring students and industry leaders from Fortune 500 companies together to advocate for increased representation within and throughout the entertainment industry. 

"I had a beautiful experience at Unity Summit LA — networking with my fellow students and industry professionals," said Victoria Makanjuola and IYA graduate student who attended the Unity Summit. "The 'Transformers ONE' screening was awesome and I even met the director and took a selfie with the lead actor, Brian Tyree Henry! I am so grateful to the creators of this conference and all the sponsors for giving college students like myself an opportunity to be in ‘the room where it happens'.”
