Exhibiting IYA 2023 Presents Diverse Display of Student Work
May 4, 2023
The USC Iovine and Young Academy community came together on May 2, 2023 to behold an array of inspiring student work at the 2nd annual Exhibiting IYA showcase. Iovine and Young Hall’s walls were lined with inventive designs, problem-solving prototypes, and forces of innovation, ranging from 3D printed robots to wearable health devices to interactive exercises.
“What is the IYA mindset?” read the lobby’s gridwall, inviting viewers to understand the student spirit while engaging with their creations.
“Our process is non-linear and rooted in asking the right questions, ideating and developing creative ideas, and iterating based on feedback to drive problem solving from a holistic, empathetic, and purpose-driven approach,” the wall’s writing continued, illustrating IYA’s approach to learning.
In addition to immersive and process exhibits, live performances also rocked the patio, including a fashion presentation and dance tutorial, pie rolling, singing, jazz saxophone, beat making, and even a Blender demo.
“The refined selection of student work exemplifies business, technology, and design, and of course, the way that Academy students think, experiment, and explore,” remarked exhibit organizer Davina Wolter, assistant dean, IDEA Initiatives and assistant professor, design.
