Mexico City made for a magical four days to remember. The USC Iovine and Young Academy’s senior class commenced on a four-day immersive exploration of the vibrant city in the week leading up to spring break, giving them the chance to experience everything from the artistic impact of Frida Kahlo’s house to the thrill of a Lucha Libre match. 

In addition to touring historical sites and cultural landmarks, Cohort 6 got the chance to hear from entrepreneurs and educators defining innovation in the region. One highlight of the trip included a workshop co-facilitated by Matthew Manos and leading futurist and researcher Jorge Camacho, director of the Master’s in Design Studies at Centro. IYA collaborated with Centro students to investigate the evolution of cities and visualize the future of urban spaces in the year 2050. They also met with social entrepreneurs through an event co-curated by founder and CEO of Disruptivo.tv and Socialab, Juan Del Cerro.
