In honor of the Academy’s entrepreneurial founders Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young, the Iovine and Young Development Prize Competition awards funding prizes to an Academy student or team. Every year, students pitch proposals for innovative products that have the potential to improve society or revolutionize an industry. Due to the pandemic, this year’s competitors went virtual, using creative ways to impress the judges through Zoom. The judging committee, which includes Academy faculty and special industry guests, determined the winners based on project potential, feasibility for practical application, and social impact.

The Froot brand and platform supports women who struggle with discomfort and pain arising from poor-fitting bras. Froot empowers and educates women, and breaks down the barriers of purchasing comfortable, cost-effective, and attractive bras.



Iovine and Young Academy “Social Impact Prize”
Frontida Records

Frontida Records is a cloud-based health documentation solution that supports medical clinics in some of the world’s most challenging environments, such as refugee camps. The digital platform provides a centralized database for health records which will optimize access to patient medical histories, improve efficiencies in medical clinics, and improve patient treatment and outcomes for some of the world’s most vulnerable populations.

Kokari

With the Kokari app, your NFT collection will no longer collect virtual dust. The service builds an infrastructure, userbase, and content pipeline for the burgeoning NFT market and is uniquely positioned to take advantage of the upcoming release of consumer AR headsets from leading tech companies such as Apple and Facebook.
