Based in Los Angeles, clothing and jewelry designer Michael Schmidt’s clients include Madonna, Cher, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Lenny Kravitz, Fergie & the Black Eyed Peas, Steven Tyler, Deborah Harry, Ozzy Osbourne, Tina Turner and many others. In 2013, Schmidt designed the world's first fully articulated, 3D-printed gown for burlesque icon Dita Von Teese.
Schmidt's fine jewelry collection utilizes many of the same materials and techniques he has honed for his celebrity clientele. For the past 14 years Michael has designed an exclusive collection of jewelry, clothing, bags and sculptural works for the luxury goods firm Chrome Hearts. Additionally, he has collaborated with other designers and stylists, including Jeremy Scott, Arianne Phillips, B Akerlund and Mel Ottenberg.
Schmidt has designed large-scale, interior design art projects for the Ace Hotels in Palm Springs and downtown Los Angeles, Palms Place Resort in Las Vegas, Palladium nightclub in New York City, and Whole Foods emporium in Newport Beach, California.
His work has been featured in exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Arts and Design, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Pasadena Museum of California Arts and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
